I’ve started getting some errors in the front page of my store:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: build_xml() in C:\AppServ\www\catalog\includes\modules\flash_carousel.php on line 99

Hi,
If you look catalog/includes/functions/flash_carousel.php file you will see build_xml() function. And if you don’t have this file in your catalog it means that you didn’t copy new files to your catalog. Please check osCommerce Flash Carousel addon files and be sure to upload files to your catalog.

I really sory about Arabic language support. I worked to show Arabic characters but I couldn’t manage yet. Maybe next release I can write UTF-8 support. If you know basic solution how we can show these characters please let me know.

hi. i am not sure where i went wrong. the photos do not display and instead a “1″ displays for each photo. Are you able to help? Thank you in advance.

Did you chmod kampanya directory to 777. I looked your site and couldn’t find kampanya/kampanya.xml file. The script couldn’t produce kampanya.xml file so asCommerce Flash Carousel couldn’t show anything.

Only catalog/kampanya folder enough.

Sorry to sound noobish but my only probl;me with the flash carousal is that none of my images are transparent, despite setting this in fireworks, saving as png and uploading the images still have white borders/backgrounds.

Any thoughts?

I`ve managed to succesfuly instal the 3.0 version – BUT – on a clean osc i get this error with the 3.2 version

Thx verry much – the filename file from the admin folder was ok … but i`ve forgot the other one from the catalog/includes … ) The new version runns like buttered – way better then the previous one.

Hi I got the same error as cdsdirect got. In order to further test it, I temporarily commented out the if statement and added ‘/’ in catalog/includes/functions/flash_carousel.php
$filename_dir = DIR_FS_CATALOG .’/’. $directory . $filename;

This took care of the error but still I cannot see flash. Even my source code does not show any link to flash. I tried executing the flash with direct url to flash file but no luck. I have checked the table, there are 7 records in the flash_carousel table. No xml is being generated.

Please help resolve the problem, I’m kinna stuck

I checked you site and your xml looks like this

There is an error about generated xml file

As you see Price tag value have problem.

You need to remove tags from your price information.

I think problem sources from catalog/includes/classes/flash_carousel_image_resize.php file.

If you look 27th line you will see
error_reporting(E_ALL);

So you need to turn off by putting //.
Then your code will be
//error_reporting(E_ALL);

hello,
everything works excellent but i have one problem
when i choose “show sub-category pages” is showing all the products again and again without seperating them per category,i get this error only with internet explorer 7,with firefox it is working fine.
could you please tell me why?

Normally flash cache its xml file. osCommerce Flash Carousel has flexible xml handling. I mean everytime flash read xml but some browsers still use cached flash.

i have a problem with internet explorer browser…when somebody is in my home page and he want to enter on his account by clicking the enter button “ΕΙΣΟΔΟΣ” when he enter the username and pass and press the enter button a message is displaying and says:
“Security Information: This page contains both secure and nonsecure items.Do you want to display the nonsecure items?”.
i have tried with mozila and opera and no errors found.
When i turn off the carousel is working well.
Could you help me please?

I think problem is not about osCommerce Flash Carousel. I looked your website with internet explorer 8 and firefox but couldn’t see any error message. Sometimes internet explorer can give below message. Because firefox decides basehref definetion according to site address whether http or https but internet explorer not.

In order to prevent getting error message please check your webpage source code and look for http://somefiles in at https://webpage..

I have a problem…
After following the installation steps… in the administration area there is NO menu created for adding the pictures in the catalog. So it doesn’t work…
You have any idee what might be the problem? Why that menu for chosing the pictures is missing?

Yes, i run the sql on my OCS database. It has run with success. It creates the tables, entries.
It creates a menu in the configuration tab, it looks like this (the last entry is flash carousel)

I am installing it from scratch i am doing step 1, 2, 3 (this step overwrites the files from step 2 adding new ones) then step 14 (i run flash_carousel_english.sql file with phpMyAdmin on my osc database), step 15, step 16.
That’s it!

So…any suggestions?

It is true but you missed a instruction in step 3
If your store is new and you have not made any modifications, please copy all files from modified_files to your store.

Then you need to copy modified_files from addon to your store.

I installed everything properly but the flash is blank and does not appear anything!
I already checked the installation!

Hello i install the oscommerce_flash_carousel_3.2_1.

And i have only a small(big problem). I have many contribs installed. And one are Tax info. When Tax info disabled its work , it’s Tax info enabled the screen are white?

What can we(i) do)?

Hello

I have installed the flash carousel v.3.2, all steps ok.
I have the error 1
In the logs I see this:
File does not exist: /kampanya/kampanya_20060.jpg
This image really don’t exits in this folder.

My configuration is:
Flash Carousel xml/image Store Directory -> kampanya
Want to Resize Images? -> true
Flash Carousel Style -> style_1::medium

kampanya folder is 777 permissioned.

With the option “resize images” to false I can see the flash and products, but the images are too big.
How can I resolve this to view product’s image smaller?

how do i resize the width of the flashbox without resizing the width of the rotating carousel within it? also, how do i center its positioning so that it floats in the center of a table cell?

basically i am using a combination of nested tables and css and i am trying to make the flashbox fit correctly within the table cell without shrinking the carousel. i would also like to get rid of the white space on either side of the carousel.

Thank you!!! i am downloading flash trial now. i will respond back if editing is successful. i dont have this installed on my prototype store now just a prototype copy. i will add it to my main prototype as soon as it works flawlessly.

i have to say this is probably the most impressive osc mod ive seen. i think many people can agree with me. i am assuming this is a modification of all the flash carousel mods found on google but thank you for making this possible on osc.

i read that you are working on a faster version? do you know when it may be released? will you include upgrade instructions?

the reason why i ask is because the flash slows down some of the dynamic menus and stuff but not by much. i dont know what kind of effect it will have on speed but i am hoping my index page wont be too slow because i plan on having a high traffic website.
