Audience
This guide is intended for osCommerce store owner who want to use osCommerce Flash Carousel to deliver selected products to the customers.
Required Knowledge
In order to install osCommerce Flash Carousel you need to edit some files. If you have unmodified store you can easily install it. If you have modified store and don’t know code editing you can buy installation service.
Requirement
You need to have osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2.

This instruction to osCommerce Flash Carousel is intended to give you summary of this addon.
osCommerce Flash Carousel is an addon for serve products with fashionable flash styles. It makes you to deliver your selected products to your customers with an attractive way.
osCommere Flash Carousel delivers your selected products, which were selected at your store managemant panel, not only at main page but also all categories page.

Im trying to modify the fla source but with Flash MX 2004 (running via wine 1.1.16 on ubuntu 8.10) I’m not able to open even one of the source files. Any hints?

You can modify fla with Adobe Flash Professional CS3 or CS4.

I installed the flash carousel, and it looks awesome – until the mouse rolls over the pictures. I use , (comma) as a decimal point, but when looking at the carousel, it changes 5,00 to 500 and 0,50 to 050. The xml file notes the price correctly, so I had to deactivate the addon until there is a solution.

Open catalog/kampanya/style_1/medium/configuration.php file with an editor. You can configure 3 parameters.
$style['width'] = ‘600′; //osCommerce Flash Carousel width
$style['height'] = ‘300′; //osCommerce Flash Carousel height
$style['product_name_lenght'] = ‘30′; ////osCommerce Flash Carousel product name lenght

Hi guys,
nice Add-On.
Looks nice. But on my website i can only see a big space, where the carousel should appear.
I added products like shown above.
Any1 got a solution for this problem?
My xml looks like this:

So it looks ok in my opinion.

I installed before the german Taxinfo-contrib.
So any1, who gets this problem, has to change in modules/flash_carousel.php display_price into display_price2 (two times)

I thought i`ll let you know first.
I get this error mesage:
Warning: copy(/home/ /public_html/home/ /public_html/images/agapibeachhotelcreta.jpg) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/mirabili/public_html/includes/modules/flash_carousel.php on line 84
I`ve fallwod the instalation steps.
Any ideea ? Anyone ? Heelph

osCommerce Flash Carousel3.2 (new version) doesn’t use copy function. I changed image class so if you upgrade your carousel you don’t have any copy error.

Ok!
Forget the one above – i`ve managed to open my eyes and made somme basic corections at configure.php from the admin folder.
Now – this is the one i`m really stuck on ( it`s in admin panel of this addon)
Fatal error: Call to undefined function tep_cfg_mod_select_option() in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/admin/configuration.php(123) : eval()’d code on line 1
Any ideea?

And i get the white box – no products are displayed in the carousel

osCommerce Flash Carousel module works on main page and the categories pages. You can see full features of osCommerce Flash Carousel at http://www.oscommercex.com/oscommerce-flash-carousel/oscommerce-flash-carousel-usage/
There is an option:
Want to Show Sub-category Pages? :If you want to use osCommerce Flash Carousel in any sub-category page, select configuration true. In other words when you are visiting a sub-category page osCommerce Flash Carousel will show products only releated with this sub-category.

Thank you for the information i have already tried that and is really cool, but, what i was asking is if instead of showing product i can have the main page with the carousel showing categories instead of products.

Maybe in the future I can write some codes in order to show categories on main page in flash carousel.
i just install the carousel and everything look fine but i seen that ,when i go on the web page by the http://www.xxxxx.com way the carousel work, but when i go on with te xxxxx.com way (whithout www before) the carousel appaer but the poducts info’ s link doesnt work.
is there something i can do?

I have oscommerce 2.2 RC2 installed, and followed all the steps for installtion of Flas carousel 3.0.1
in my OScommerce admin panel….
under Configuration tab, i can see “Flash Carusel ”
But Under the Catalog tab, i cannot see the “Flash products”
can you help me with prob…….
On website the carousel section is empty…..no images showing…..
